Due to the ice storm in Eastern Canada just before Christmas last week, my power was out for almost a week. We were lucky enough to have a small wood burning fireplace in our living room which we lived in during the power outage. Last year, I finally had the ugly fireplace surround replaced with beautiful honey-coloured 3 cm x 1.5 cm polished marble mosaic. However, due to the constant use of that fireplace last week, the surround and the white painted mantel above are now quite clearly smoke stained. Any advice on how to safely remove the smoke stain from the marble and the grout? Any input will be appreciated!
