I would like some tips on preventing lint on dark clothes, for instance, navy sweats, dark colors. Why am I getting lint on these dark clothes. I wash colors separately. Maybe I should stop Fabric Softeners... any advice would be appreciated.

Rather than separating into lights and darks,I separate into linty (towels, anything fleecy, etc) and non-linty-(jeans, pants, etc.) I do use dryer sheets in the dryer. Never used in-the-wash -fabric softeners.

Turn them inside out before washing.
