Keeping kitchen cabinets clean

I'm having a hard time. I have new-built (two years old now) wooden cabinets painted a dark brown. They have a panel with a triple bevel on them, which seems to collect every bit of dust and gunk. I have the same problem with the bathroom ones -- they collect powder. I have to take toothbrush to them, and can't even get the corners of the beveled panels clean.

I wipe them down periodically, especially the most-used surfaces, but I'd like to know how often do you wipe/clean your kitchen cabinets? I'm not overly neat, so you're not going to find me wiping down all the cabinets every day, or even every week.

Do you have some realistic tips and timeline for me?
