Must I use Electrolux bags?

Posted by irislover7b (My Page) on

I have an older Electrolux upright. I can't find a model number but it says Regency Series on the front. It's light gray with blue handle and trim. Do I need to use Electrolux brand bags, or does it matter? I looked on eBay and saw several different ones that said they would fit.

RE: Must I use Electrolux bags?

Yes, you can use other brands of bags, as long as they fit your vacuum cleaner. Your bags are very easy to find. You can find generic microlined bags that say FOR ELECTROLUX UPRIGHTS STYLE "U",that will fit models like Discovery Series, Regency, Epic, Prolux, etc. You can also find the bags under the Aerus name, which is Electrolux USA's new name(link to what your vacuum became). There are also other brands that had this model series made for them like Proteam for one.

There are quite a bit of generic bags "for Electrolux upright-Style "U" on ebay.

To find your model number, look on the back of the vacuum cleaner, towards the bottom. If it is not there, look on the bottom. There should be a silver ratings sticker that includes things like volts, amps, brand, model serial number, etc.

Here is a link that might be useful: Aerus Hardbodied Upright
