Kirby Floor Polisher

Posted by Mansy (My Page) on

Hi , I just bought a used Kirby cleaner with tons of accessories. I have carpet upstairs in my house but downstairs I have solid oak wooden flooring which has been treated with oil. Would it help or hinder me to have the floor polisher/buffer, which I think I can get new for about 30/$45.

Thanks for any help

RE: Kirby Floor Polisher

You might want to check with Kirby, or a quality flooring company, if they suggest the floor polisher/buffer for use with an oil treated wood floor. I remember my mother-in-law using paste wax on her varnished oak floors and then buffing them. With today's finishes, this really isn't necessary. When I had wood floors I never had to use a floor polisher/buffer on them, but they had a polyurethane finish.
