Removing wine and its odor from my car's trunk

A wine bottle broke in my trunk, emptying all its contents. Thank goodness it was white, but my car smells like Chardonnay gone bad. Any ideas on how to clean and deodorize?

I'm assuming you have the fuzzy felt like carpet in your trunk. A carpet cleaning machine would be your best bet. Mix some kind of odor control liquid with the carpet cleaning liquid. If you don't have that you would at least need a wet/dry vac. Gently sponge the carpet and extract all the liquid.

You also need to look in the tire storage area. Take out the tire and you'll probably find wine resting on the bottom. Wipe it all down with a disinfectant mixed with an odor killer product.

Last summer I had a large bottle of red wine burst from the heat in my car's back seat, on the floor. I immediately sopped up as much as I could with fresh water. Then I called around a found a car wash service that specializes in deep cleaning and had them spot clean that area. It didn't cost more than about $25.00. They did a fabulous job: no stain left and, even more importantly, no smell.
