How to remove stain from Merino wool?

Posted by sue36 (My Page) on

I have a merino wool argyle sweater with a small stain on the front that I believe is ink. I have no idea what kind of ink it is. It's very small.

Does anyone have any treatments for getting an ink stain off wool? The argyle is cream and tan, and the stain is on the tan section, right on the line. Thanks.

If it is ballpoint ink, denatured alcohol will melt it but then you have to clean it off with a cleaning agent of some kind right away. I think I would try some cold water and a dab of soap on the spot. Even use a spot treatment. Or you can take it to the drycleaners.

I forgot to say that hair spray will do the trick as it has denatured alcohol in it.
