sticker glue on hard wood pre-finished floor?

How should I remove sticker glue from pre-finished floor?
I tried the Bruce floor cleaner, and rubbing but its not working. The sticky stuff is from a floor protecter on a chair. Somehow one made contact with the floor and left a sticky residue. Maggie |

Try using lighter fluid or mineral spirits.

I vote for Goo Gone, but before you do more I would suggest you contact the floor manufacturer about the best way. Stickers are so annoying.

I would have sworn BY Goo Gone - but after an encounter the other day, I was swearing AT Goo Gone. A plastic table purchased at Wally World had a horrible sticky sticker - and it took much Goo and much elbow grease - how dare someone make a stickier sticky?

Wannadanc, was there water involved in the process of removing the sticker? I don't think Goo Gone is very effective if the sticker is wet.
