Well....the moral of that story is don't ever use that orange glo stuff....I have had several bad experiences with it....will ruin certain wood finishes....
But....Don't know what kind of leather....suede? I have spilled grease and oil ( salad dressing, butter etc) on my leather furniture and never had a problem...
How about something to absorb the grease? I got grease out of a pair of suede pants with corn meal....rubbed it in and vacuumed it off and repeated until all the grease was gone.

I have done it both ways...cornmeal is after all cornstarch.....
If the chairs are a dark color, it may be more difficult to get the last bit of the cornstarch out....and it may show.....
But either works!

another idea is Fullers Earth, I think could still be available at drug stores,, it's similar to cornstarch and will absorb the stain. I have fullers earth in stick form, looks like a thick piece of white chalk,,had it for eons really-- since the 60's!! It works so well, just rub it on the stain, let it sit, then dust it off with a clean cloth.

Dragonfly, thanks for your comments, however...Problem has been solved. My husband went to Lowes and he was advised to go to a sporting goods store and get saddle soap. He did and used it per the directions and no more spot....YEA!!

I have a leather bag the color of lavendar.It has a oil stain from lip gloss. Due to the light color of the bag, do you think I could use the cornstarch or cornmeal to remove the stain?

Leather should be kept out of direct sunlight. Leather should be cleaned regularly. First, use a soft cloth or micro-fiber cloth to dust the surface. Saddle soap works beautifully on leather.
