skid marks on hardwood floor.

This is going to sound strange, but my grandkids were skidding across the hardwood floor with socks on, and the socks left skid marks on the floor. Sounds funny, but I cannot get rid of the skid marks. I have used 2 different hardwood floor cleaners with no luck. Any suggestions?

Use a dry paper towel to rub over the skid marks. This works for black shoe marks, surely it would work for sock skid marks.

If this does not work, maybe a floor polisher would polish out the skid marks.

Maybe a natural rubber or art-gum eraser? I'd also try Mr. Clean Eraser on such marks.
