Do you mean that you have the electric power head with rotating brushes?

Not sure what model or how old yours is.

Mine is approx. 10 years old now and was the basic one.

I got a great deal on a Miele canister vacuum a few months ago and can't believe how much better it vacuums.

I think the power brush on the Beam is not great. I can see differences between it and the Miele and the Miele just grooms the carpet so much better.

I know you can get much better power heads from Beam. I'd be tempted to upgrade to their Q Power version. I think it would have better features that do a nicer job on carpet.
