Cleaning oil rubbed bronze???

Looking at door levers for our new home--my husband really liked the oil rubbed bronze look, so I agreed. Now I'm reading about cleaning them--I'm very germ conscious and like to disinfect my door knobs, and it seems you can only use oil or wax on oil rubbed bronze--which wouldn't seem to kill any germs at all! I've been Googling, but haven't come up with ANY way to really clean ORB--would love any advice on this! I'll feel bad if we change the finish, because my husband likes it so much--but I really like things to be clean!

I've read windex original. Looking at it's ingredients, it has more cleaning agents & disinfectants in it than I realized,
