TSP v deglosser

We're starting a remodel, turning kitchen, DR, and LR into a great room. Cabinets are good wood but too dark, so I'll be painting them. Is TSP the best thing to use to clean/prep cabinets, or would deglosser be better? chery-va

RE: TSP v deglosser

TSP, without a doubt. I've yet to find a deglosser that truly cleans and abrades the surface.
(I've been a painting contractor for 25 years, I've done this A LOT.) I've painted hundreds of kitchen cabinets.
