Cleaning an Old Trunk

Hi,

I have an old trunk that I used in college (20 years ago!) that I'm trying to clean. The outside isn't too bad but the inside smells terrible. I tried Tilex on the inside of the trunk for any mold or mildew. I shut the trunk for a few days (after spraying it with Tilex) and the smell went away when I openned it. I put the openned trunk in front of my air filter and the clean smell lasted a few weeks.

But now that old musty smell is back and I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Open it up and set it in the sun. Sunlight and fresh air work wonders! But don't get it wet. Don't leave it out overnight, the morning dew will get in it.
