My sister mistakenly put my infant son on our expensive velvet chaise, and his diaper leaked a couple poopy spots right in the center of the chaise.

I was taking a power nap, and my husband googled how to clean velvet, and missed the part where it said you should dilute the vinegar, and applied vinegar directly on the stains. The yellow spots came out, but the areas that were cleaned now have velvet is a different hue than the rest of the chaise.

There are dark areas that can not be brushed lighter, and there are areas that look matted. I read that you get rid of matting, you should rewet the velvet and use a baby brush to brush the threads, but that didnt solve the issue.

Any advice on how we can fix this couch? We just bought it 1 week ago!
