Any natural oven cleaners that work?

I have an almost brand new 36" gas range with a manual clean oven. The oven works great and we love the roasted chicken and other great things it produces, but I haven't found a good way to clean it yet. My old GE had a self-clean feature so I used to let it go till I couldn't stand it anymore and then ran the nasty self-clean cycle. I use natural non-toxic cleaning products for everything else so tried a couple of them that listed ovens as one of the items they can be used for, but unfortunately they didn't work. Is there a good product out there? The web search found the "overnight ammonia" method (is that non-toxic?) and also applying a paste made of baking soda and water (that wouldn't work for the oven walls, would it?). Are these methods safe for any porcelain oven interior or do I need to call the manufacturer to confirm?
