How to clean bathroom with brand new travertine tile?

Posted by ejcook (My Page) on

We just redid our master bath with travertine tile on the floor, shower, and around the tub. It is not sealed yet, as we're waiting for it to dry. Can anyone recommend a good cleaner for travertine, and the method you use to clean it?

It would be convenient if we could also use the same cleaner on our guest bath, which has porcelain tile with a travertine accent strip. Thanks.

You could call the installer and ask him what to use.

Personally, I like the Stone Tech products.

I use a Bissell steam mop to clean my honed travertine and my porcelain tile. If you're going to use chemicals, stone needs a neutral (pH balanced) cleaner. You can find dedicated stone cleaners at Lowes and Home Depot.
