I have a bunch of silk plants, mostly in my kitchen above the cabinets. They have horrendous dust on them and I shudder every time I look up at them, but I've been too lazy and busy to try to clean them. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this easily? Thanks!

I use a feather duster on mine, once a week. It works just fine. Perhaps with the grime on yours you first need to lightly mist or sponge them off?

| I toss mine in either the sink or the bathtub. I lay them down sideways and concentrate on the flower/leafy part. I spray them with water and then spray them with any kind of cleaning soap product. | We've a silly appliance called a steam cleaner that requires distilled water and warm up and complicated setup and emptying. And, the only use I've found for the silly thing is cleaning plants. | You can take them outside and spray them with the garden hose. Once they are dry, bring them back in. |

Since they are up high in the kitchen and you say they are dirty, I bet that they are coated with a combination of dust and cooking grease. That won't be easy to remove except to wash it off. I would pull the silk flowers out of their containers if that is possible and wash them in a tub of hot water and laundry detergent. Rinse them well and put them back into their containers to dry so that the flowers and leaves will fluff out again.

I fill my bathroom sink with cold water and a bit of Woolite. Swish them in that, then rinse under running water, and then I drop them into the tub to dry. They look like new that way, every time
