Scotchguard is definitely useless, not worth paying for. We had wall to wall carpeting installed, salesman talked us into Scotchguard. He said all liquids would not be absorbed into the carpet, they would bead up for instant removal. Within one week I spilled a cup of coffee on my bedroom carpet (white,of course) leaving both a stain and a curdled milk smell. Calls to the carpet store were pointless. The salesman no longer worked there. (Maybe he didn't sell enough Scotchguard?) So the extra money and receipt) were just a waste. Don't know about the Fibre stuff.
