motor for turntable in microwave gets gummed from below

We've a built-in microwave above a stove. The motor for turntable in microwave gets gummed, seemingly from below. I see no obvious way to remove the motor or the microwave. Any cleaning requiring removal will require a professional.

In the meantime would you care to conjecture anything we can try?

Have you changed the filters? On mine, there's a grease filter, easily changed, and a charcoal filter somewhere inside--which it says you're supposed to change every six months, but to do that you have to unscrew the top of the microwave (and I'm not about to do that, because it will fall, or I will fail to reinsert it or some other Fail, knowing me).
