You should be able to slide the left door to the right and the right side to the left, which would expose the "gray" area. Or, you can do as I did and take the whole thing out. It really wasn't difficult and over a few days, the paint scraper took care of all the glue gook on the bottom, and gently took most of the silicone off the sides. When I can open the window for ventilation, I'll use some thinner to finish the job. I will NEVER have shower doors again!!! The instructions are on the Bathrooms forum under "Removing Shower Doors". | Hi Wantoretire: I couldn't position the doors such that I could get to that overlap (it had a little "door stop" thingy that kept them from sliding across each other). Anyway, I ended up getting the inner door out and got them pretty darn clean after exposing that overlapped area. I used Bar Keeper's Friend and a scrubbie pad. What that didn't get, Lemon Oil took care of. While they might not look brand new, there's nothing much to complain about, so I'm pretty happy. Now to remove some old caulk that's stained in a few spots and re-caulk and the shower is all set! Tracey |
