Had several large dark spots on the carpet that looked like it was from food. Cleaning with carpet cleaners only made it worse.

Read that sprinkling flour or cornmeal or cornstarch would absorb grease from the carpet.

I mixed equal amounts of each and covered the spots rubbing into the carpet well. Left it on for 24 hours at least.

Used the vacumn cleaner on it and it looks clean. Will take a few more times to get all the powder residue out of the carpet.
