Unusual cleaning problem

DH left some Thin Mints in the bedside table drawer. The mints melted(!), and the sugary/syrupy insides leaked down the front of the cabinet, and onto the wood floor.

I am at a loss as to how to clean this mess. My inclination is warm water, but I'm concerned for the wood.

I m going to cross-post this to the Kitchen Table forum.

Any suggestions?

A wet cloth and a little water are not going to hurt the wood.

Hi,

I tend to go for something with enzymes in it for messes like that. You should not hurt the wood, as long as you wipe the moisture away completely and then follow up with a furniture wax or polish. One of the oxy-products or my favorite (D-Molish) may work better than just water AND you can use it on carpet or other fabrics as well. These products (D-Molish) are safe for just about everything, including your family and pets. Good luck to you! What a mess--I can't imagine.

I agree with graywings, plus if I can't clean it with soap and water or a damp cloth I don't want it.
