Dishwasher leaving residue on dishes.....

White residue on dishes is due to change in formulation of dish washing machine detergents, phosphate has been removed from formula.

I have been using Cascade powder with Dawn and have no problem, however, I believe it is due to the fact that I fill the "rinse dispenser" with white vinegar instead of store bought rinse aids.

Give white vinegar a try in the rinse dispenser and see if it solves your problem.

P.S. I also use white vinegar in washing machine rinse dispenser and now the tub/agitator area are clean as a whistle, no more soap residue build up. Clothes are great. I do use a fabric softener sheet in dryer with synthetic fabrics, (don't like static cling).

A freind suggested adding powdered lemonade to the rinse dispenser and it works great for us. The dishwasher repairman said the residue was from our water.

We have really hard water here in Florida too.

Great, I was going to do a search on substitute for dishwasher spot remover... I was thinking maybe white vinegar.

Seems that is the answer, thanks.

I have purchased a spot remover for the dish washer for that last, gee 30 years (?) but just ran out and thought "is there something" cheaper or maybe even better.
