Just restarted home brewing. Using a large, big, heavy

flat-bottom pot on a standard porcelain electric range.

On the porcelain around the base of the burner, under

the pot, get a brownish char-like deposit. Cannot remove.

Have tried solvents, ammonia, bleach, vinegar,

soft-scrub. Afraid steel wool with scratch the porcelain.

Suggestions?
