Cleaning a griddle???

Posted by vwhippiechick (My Page) on Mon, Jan 14, 08 at 21:29
Kitchen remodel in progress and just got Electrolux Icon Dual Fuel range installed. Used the griddle to make grilled cheese sandwiches. Some of the cheese melted onto the griddle and is very difficult to remove. How should I care for this griddle. I am not even sure what it is made of, I am assuming it is cast iron. Should I have seasoned it before using? None of these questions are answered in the use and care guide that came with the stove. Thanks for your help.

Is there any way you can tell for sure if it is cast iron? If it is it should be seasoned first. If its not cast iron it could be ruined by trying to season it. Good luck, hope you find a solution.

I would go to the website and find a phone number to contact them. Have your model # ready and ask what it is made of and how to clean.
