Cleaning Tile and Bamboo Floors

Our home flooded in September and I vowed to keep all of the carpet out of our house. We have about 2800 square feet with 1/2 of it porcelain tile and 1/2 of it strand bamboo. I also have 6 children. We are sort of back in the house - kitchen yet - but we are sleeping in the house and spending a majority of our days here. So, the dirt is piling up. Plus, I still have construction dirt leftover.

I'm currently using Martha Stewart floor cleaner with a microfiber mop. This works ok. I think that it would probably be easier if I had a canister vac AND a steam mop or cleaner. Because I need to purchase both, I can't really afford an expensive steam cleaner or vac. However, if expensive is better and/or longer lasting, then I'm all for that.

In addition to needing this equipment, I am also having trouble getting the glue and mortar off of my bamboo. How do I get this stuff off without ruining the finish on the bamboo?

Thanks.

Susie
