This is the perfect place for the question ;-). If you happen to know what brand of carpet it is, or even if you don't know, I would call a carpet store in your area for suggestions. If that doesn't help, after blotting up as much as possible with a cloth/paper towels, I would get a can of foam-type spot remover for carpet. I once used Bissell Fabric & Upholstery Cleaner to remove Magic Marker from carpet.

I have friends who are floor cleaning professionals, and they will come in and do even a small job like this, and don't charge all that much. That may be true of a business in your area, as well. So that's another choice if you are worried you will make things worse.

NAYY, but this product has removed every stain I've tried it on. They make a non-pet version, but I think the one for pets smells better.

Plain old oxyclean has never failed me. I have a tub of the powder in the laundry room and it has been used on carpeting several times.
