I don't know about that kind of spray. I've tried some in the olden days, but just wrecked stuff. Now I use the method I found on flylady.net, Shiny Sink 101 and my sinks at home always look ggod, and my sink at work stays pretty good, too!

BE SURE AND RINSE WELL BETWEEN EACH STEP OF THE WAY!

1. Take all the dishes out of the sink.

2. Run some very hot water into the sink. Fill to the rim. Only do one side at a time. Then, pour a cup of household bleach into the hot water. Let it sit for 1 hour. Now, pull the plug with a pair of tongs. If you don't have tongs, then scoop some of the water out of the sink into the other sink and use your hand to pull the plug (wear gloves and don't get the bleach-water on your clothes). (If you are opposed to bleach, you can use white vinegar)

3. Rinse your sink well.

4. Use some cleanser (Comet, Ajax, or Baking Soda) and scrub your sink. Ensure you rinse ALL of the cleanser from the sink.

5. Take a sharp edge and clean around the rim of the sink, just like you would clean dirt out from under your fingernails.

6. Clean around the faucets too. You may need an old toothbrush or dental floss.

7. Now, get out your window cleaner, I use Windex, and give it a good shine.

8. If you still don't like the way it looks, then you could try some car wax. Just know in your heart that you have cleaned it very well now and it doesn't have to be perfect. Our perfectionism is what got us in this situation in the first place.

9. Every time you run water in your sink, take your clean dishtowel and dry it out (I lay out a clean one, every night with my before bedtime routine). Before you know it, you will be doing this everytime you leave your kitchen. The rest of the family will too. No more water spots. You will have a clean and shiny sink.

10. Don't have a fit if someone doesn't take as much pride in your sink as you do. It is very easy to fix. You have already done the hard part. You will never have to go through this process again. Daily maintenance will keep it looking this way all the time. Nasty hurtful word are not as easy to repair. Just be sure and tell your family what you are trying to do. They will think you have gone crazy.

11. If you don't have a dishwasher, don't worry. A dishwasher is just a dirty dish disposal. Clean out a place under your sink and put a dishpan in there. Teach your family, that instead of putting their dirty dishes and glasses in the sink, place them into the dish pan. Get into the habit of putting your dishes away as soon as they have been washed and are dry. No more leaving the dish drying rack on the counter or in the sink. Put it away under the sink when you have finished. If your old one is nasty, you may want to soak it in the sink full of bleach water at the same time you soak the sink or go buy a new set.

12. To insure that your family remembers this, put a note in the sink. It will get their attention and remind them where to put the dishes. Be patient! They have never been taught either. It is going to take some practice.

Now if you have a stainless steel sink, I recommend all of the above directions with one extra instruction added: after you soak your sink, rinse well, and use SOS pads to scrub it. This will buff the finish. It will look like new.

If you still can't get it to shine after the Windex, put a light coat of lemon oil or olive oil on it. I mean just a tiny bit on a cloth and rub it. This will make you smile. Some people have had very good results from Bar Keepers Friend.

I use BonAmi powdered cleanser on my stainless steel sink(instead of comet or ajax or one of the cleansers that scratch) It leaves the sink looking much better than comet does. You find it in the store where you find Comet. It polishes as it cleans and then all you have to do is dry the sink.

I like Bar Keepers Friend best for cleaning my SS sink.

I just use dish soap on a second sponge I use just for cleaning the sink. I use on of the ones that has a scrubbing side safe for non-stick cookware. I works just fine. I do wipe the faucet and sink down with a (fairly) dry towel after cleaning them.

My housekeeping service uses Scrubbing Bubbles in the aersol can. Can't say how it makes for the job of cleaning, but my sink always sparkles!

I buy a cleaner for my stainless steel sink at Ace Hardware. I am attaching a link of the product I use sometimes. The company who makes the attached product also makes one specifically for stainless sinks, but the attached one works as well. Sometimes I spray it in the sink at night, wipe it around a bit to be sure I get all of the sink and faucet, and leave it overnight. Just take a dry paper towel in the morning and wipe off the excess that hasn't sunk in.
Kitchen Magic can be used on laminate countertops and stainless sinks as well as the range top (does a good job there). It's about 4.99 a can. Sometimes they carry it and the stainless cleaner at Home Depot.

My stainless sink had lost it's luster so to speak. Decided to use Chlorox Cleanup Cleaner with Bleach. Amazing, almost instantly the sink became clean and sparkling again. Apparently the sink had stains from food, etc. making it very dull.

I'll second bartenders friend. It polishes it up to looking brand new, and the oil in it actually makes water bead up on it.

I have stainless cookware as well, so I do my plastic dishes and china first, then my stainless, then when I'm done squirt it on the sink too, give it a good scrub and rinse. Done deal.

Weiman's stainless steel cleaner and rub it in with a magic eraser. This method always works the best for me. I don't know about leaving it on for long though. I never had to do that.

The other night I decided to hand-wash a few dishes because the dishwasher was full and running. I filled the sink (stainless steel) about half full of hot tap water and a big squirt of Dawn,then added the dishes. Using gloves, I washed all the dishes. Then took my kitchen scrubbie sponge and really scrubbed all 5 sides of the sink. (Four sides and bottom). I even scrubbed the drain as far down as I could get with my scrubbie. Let it drain, rinsed and then dried with a paper towel. I've been careful since then to rinse glasses and dishes or let dirty items soak. The sink has remained shiny clean. And I notice it stays smelling nice, that morning "garbage" odor has disappeared.

I favor Barkeepers Friend also. But here's a wonderful tip I love. I ran into my son leaving a Harley Davidson celebration and he told me to make absolutely sure to watch the guy demo a product called "Bug Slide". Holy cow, my friend and I watched the demo and each of us bought it instantly. I use it on my sink, my showers, my car and my windows. It is a fantastic product to eliminate stains and clean shiny things. Water runs off like a ducks back. I don't know where else you can get it but I do go to a Harley Dealer here and get mine. I've used it for years.

I'd just like to know what y'all are doing in your kitchen sinks that requires a one hour bleach soak to get clean!
I wash my sink every time I do the dishes (2-3 times a day) and that's that. It is undoubtedly the cleanest surface in my home- I'd be happy to lick it any moment of any day, LOL.

Sorry but that is disgusting.
How about teach your family how to operate soap and water?
Unless you are a stay at home mom I would expect my family to wash the occasional dish or glass and return it to the shelf on which they found it.

Dirty dishes piling up anywhere is filthy and lazy.
