What kind of cloth/solution to use in mop?

I have this mop contraption called the Fuller Brush Versamop. It is kind of like a swiffer wet jet, but it gives the ability to use any solution you want... and it came with some blue non-textured washable cloths. I like that it doesn't cater to the disposable economy, forcing me to buy a certain brand of disposable cloths and solution. The problem is that some people I used to live with threw the blue cloths that came with the device away. I have tried to use a regular wash rag and a microfiber cloth, but they both skip and bounce on the backstroke. I wonder if the floor isn't wet enough, or if I need to try to use some other kind of rag? I can't seem to find the same material that same with the mop originally... reminded me of a shop towel kind of. What would you use?

Also, what solution would you use in something like this? I'm using a vinegar/water mixture, but it leaves spots on the tile. The tile in my apartment is the kind you'd find in a grocery store...

Thanks!
