removing adhesive from tub?

I am trying to remove the adhesive left by those non-slip tub strips. The directions say to use an aerosol stain-remover, but there seem to be several different kinds. Does anyone know what kind I should use? Or something else I could try? I was going to try mineral spirits, but the warnings on the label scared me.

Could try goof-off and a green scrubby.
Or denatured alcohol and a green scrubby, though the alcohol won't give you as much dwell time.

try some WD-40. Spray it, let it sit a bit and scrub with a green scrubby. It should remove the adhesive, it always works for me. Be sure to clean the area well afterwards as WD-40 is slippery. Some rubbing alcohol or a good cleaner should remove any residue.

I used Goo Gone, worked like a charm. Just be sure to wash the GG off really good after, it is slippery.
