Do you know Dongba? That's a remote culture of Chinese Nakhi ethnic group. They have their own particular culture, called Dongba Culture. The Dongba scripts, also known as Tomba or Dto-mba is a pictographic writing system used by the ancient Nakhi preists. It is about a thousand years old, and the only ideographic writing system in use today. Used solely as an aid to the interpretation of ritual texts during ceremonies.

The Nakhi craftsmen combined the elements of Nakhi Goddess worship and Dongba scripts in the designs of Dongba pottery. The designs are traditional yet striking and meaningful. Most of the designs features Nakhi goddess, tribal motifs, and Dongba scripts. And the making process is purely by hand.
