Softening a piece already underglazed?

Posted by janelliellio (My Page) on

I'm making a sgraffido (scratch-away) bowl for a ceramics class but it's dried out very much, although I'm sure not bisque, even though I've wrapped it thoroughly. I've already scratched away about 2/5 of the design, and I'm _not_ remaking the bowl. Is there any way to put the moisture back into the bowl without messing up the sgraffido designs? I was thinking something with a humidifier...?

Thanks Everyone
Fingers Crossed,
Janelle

You might want to try misting it with white distilled vinegar. I recommend you try on a peace of clay that is in the same dryness state your piece is in. Good Luck
