YES! This is the recipe I had many, many years ago. I could never find the exact same one, and all else paled in comparison. Thank you so, so, so much.

Bonnie, I'm sure glad you posted this recipe for Nancy. I just printed it off for myself and will be trying it. Sounds so yummy. Have you ever used french bread with this recipe?

    Punk,
I did, when I made it years ago. I remember the first time I cut off all of the crust. The next time, and every time after, I left the crust on. So much better.
I am so happy to have it again. I am e-mailing it to myself, so if I every lose the paper I can retrieve it. It's that good!

Oh yes, French bread with the crust on (as I wrote in my side notes) is the BEST way to go! I'd be making it for tomorrow but DD got a waffle maker for Christmas and has been treating us to fresh waffles for breakfast. Yum!

    Enjoy! Happy, Happy New Year!

    Slinkey,
One of the best things about this recipe (besides the incredible caramelized scrumptiousness) is that you do it all the night before, and just pop it into the oven in the morning. A great treat on a busy morning. I'm making it Sunday; my dh's b'day and then I drive our oldest back to school. UDel.)
