I can, tonight is our 1st. lighting all our neighbors are anxiously awaiting it. DH will work out any kinks, and I will get busy taking photo's for my new slideshow. Our lights are on for 1 month from tonight. We are both exhausted, but tonight will prove it's worth.

How does one pick ONE set of dishes!? There are so many beautiful ones. I am following my MILs lead and use mine everyday all month. After years of indecision, hence NO DISHES I decided to begin picking them up at thrift stores. I think of my table as a tree and the plates the ornaments on the tree. Again, I have a condition, I like a COLLECTION--so I have begun collecting Christmas plates!! Pictures of tables are DIFFICULT-here is a bad one, with a sample of the different dishes I have.

Arcy, I think having a collection is fun and so glad you plan to use them all month. Love the cardinal plate, was just looking at cardinal plates at Home Goods yesterday. They had two patterns. I like the holly one also, can't see the others too well. Thanks for sharing with us.

I don't pick one set of dishes, archy! LOL! Oh boy, it's a weakness for me & I'm trying to be really good .... so I change them out .... pretty soon I'll be getting down my Winterfrost pattern for Christmas & all the Winter season until Feb or March.

Pretty cardinal plates ... I'm a sucker for taking photos of cardinals as many of you know ~~ here's one. ;-) Jeanne

    Thank you everyone!
Aputenut looking forward to seeing your light show
Jeanne, the dishes came from TS several years ago
Thanks Punk, I didn't know they are Fire King, I bought them
because I thought they would work on a table I was doing
I've used them several times on tables.
Arcy, it really is hard to choose one set of dishes!
Jeanne, I so enjoy looking at your cardinals!!
Here's hoping more people will join us here and share their
    Christmas tables, trees and decor.

I have 30 dinner plates and 20 or so salad plates. There are around 8 different patterns in the dinner plates. It is easiest to find single "cookie" plates..which gives me really nice size dinner plates for those big holiday spreads. It is also easiest to find the nicer china brands singly in cookie plates. I don't have storage for full sets so I have to be content with eclectic! Being a school teacher I have too many to count Christmas mugs. "They make great gifts" LOL!! Back in the day I went to a work Christmas party and the hostess pushed out a coffee cart FULL of Christmas coffee mugs to serve her cider in. I was AWE struck..now here I am 30 years later and all I need is a cart!! For now I keep them out cheering up a dreary corner on my cupboard. I am currently on the hunt for bowls. DH is a cereal eater and we are trying a lot of soups and chilies this winter. My everyday bowls just aren't doing it for me. I may need to get some solid white ones..but I would rather have RED!!

It is very nice to start our Christmas month with past memories, they help us to enjoy all the things which we have missed in previous years. They also give ideas how we should make our decoration different from past years.

    LOL Arcy...
I can relate to too many CoffeE Mugs as Teacher's Gifts!
I too was a teacher and received quite a collection of Christmas ones.
I did the same with mine...Each Dec 1st I put them on a large tray by
The Coffee Maker. They are a cheery sight ...especially first thing in
    the Morning.

Now this has been a fun read ladies! So enjoyed all of it. Not sure
why I couldn't sleep and got back up but it's been good to get back
Here to Holidays. I have never thought about using different
Patterns for plates or cups but love the idea.

Must say I laughed at Arcy and Jane and their mug collections. There
Was a time when I bought a lot of them for gifts.teehee. Jeanne, such
    an awesome picture!

    Thanks for the entertainment everyone!
