Look what Y'ALL went and did now...

For a LONG time I've admired toile stuff. But not being into dishes, I resisted buying any. Just loved looking at others dishes, and fabric they've used. One particular pattern always struck me as very lovely, a rooster one of course. LOL. I saw it in red n white, and black n white, and I especially loved the latter. Well, last night I just had to go on eBay and 'see' if they had it. Of course they did, eBay has dang near everything anyone could want!! I saw several individual dinner plates listed in blk n white with the rooster and was thinking I could buy one for my dish curio collectibles. Then I saw this 5 pc SET.....and I've bid on it now! So in about 3 days it just might be mine. Look what y'all did to me!
And that's not the half of it.
Then I started looking at the other toile plates and found two with HORSES! Well of course that was all it took for me to bid on them, and WIN. They are just the 8" plates and will go in my Curio with the other dish stuff of course. I should have known that I'd find a way to JUSTIFY buying some dishes! LOL

| Karen, I hope you win your 5 pc set because we wouldn't want you to waste time being on Ebay and not winning the auction.LOL I really like both patterns but the plates with horses you won is my favorite. However I have two chickens or roosters that would go great with the other set. Sad, they are out in the shop and I don't remember which sex they are. I like the toile dishes and don't own any at this time. I want to start off with what I have before I buy any so please STOP trying to tempt me. Just STOP it!!! Can hardly wait to hear if you win the next auction. I'm rootin' for you. Punk |

| Pretty! Karen, I love toile, especially black and white. I am really taken with your horse plates because they have different scenes. I saw the ones you are bidding on in a catalog. I remember admiring them, but (of course) can't recall *which* catalog. I think it was online, but who knows... I sure don't... LOL Good luck, and forget about putting them away in the curio cab. They all sure would make a nice tablesetting. Lee |

| Punk, maybe I should tempt you more. This seller has 4 other sets listed besides the one I'm bidding on. Shipping is just $8...and the starting bid price is just $8. Lee, they are liable to end up in several settings since I do need to justify buying them. LOL. hugs, Karen |

Karen...this is too funny. I saw those plates on
Ebay. I too was looking for blk and white transferware. I'm deciding if maybe to go with that look, in my black hutch, for after the holidays.
I saw the horse ones too..and was thinking...of you.
I'm so glad you won! They are perfect for your collection. That would have been funny,
if we bid against each other on the rooster plates,
and then found out later.. Good luck on them, I hope

I just saw the Seller on the toile horse plates has listed more. She has a set of 3, and then those 3 also listed individually. I'd only wanted the two by the way, tho I saw the 3rd one.
Slinkey, too funny you were there too, keeping an eye on me, huh? LOL. THAT must've been the little voice I heard whispering BID BID BID in my ear. Tempted yet Punk? LOL,those "naughty pills" must work.

Those are lovely. It is terrible the way this forum enables us. Good look with the bid. Mean while take a look at this link. My son has a store in Chicago, and I thought of you when I saw this dog on his web site. His stuff is pricey, but it's fun to look.

Syble, good thing I don't live near Chicago...LOL. I've seen that dog in other pictures. Its part of a pair and HUGE. I'd need a bigger house to add it to my collection.
LOL. Not that it could be shipped. Years ago, in the early 90s I think, they were around $500 each in a furniture store. Its gotten worse, I saw this 8 inch salad plate and HAD to have it. I paid too much on top of that.
I am DONE. Done, done, done. I have no place in my dish curio for ANY of these new pieces either. sigh. hugs, Karen |

| Those plates are just wonderful, Karen, and I hope you win them! Black and white, roosters, and toile - doesn't get much better than that! There are many times I'm just glad many vendors don't ship to Canada. In fact I try to avoid ebay or I'd have even more unpacked boxes than I do! I love that last pic you posted of the horse and sleigh on the salad plate. That will look fabulous in a winter vignette. I'm trying to control my plate and rooster addictions but it's not easy when I see such lovely ones as these. |

| Karen, I just love all your plates but you can't be done must be time to buy another cabinet to hold them. Jane is still buying and we know everyone here is always buying and then figuring out where to put them. Do you have any under your bed yet? If not there you go. Syble, yours son's store has some great things there. Jane, those dishes would look great in your hutch but I think it already looks great the way you decorated it. Don't bid against Karen or we'll have to take away your naughty pills.haha Remember "Spread the Love" Kathleen, if you start buying these that's a sign for sure we should all have some.LOL I can't believe you don't have any yet. | Luvs, I think roosters may be popular for toile. I've seen fabric with it too. I was shocked at finding the horses tho. The one with the sleigh is part of a set but the other pieces don't have a horse in them. Punk, I have TEN china cabinets and curios. I need a bigger house. LOL. My collection of my dog statues is close to 300. My Trail of Painted Pony collection is around 120, at the moment. I haven't counted my rabbits. LOL. I have numerous small collections too. Then there's my Christmas "collections". Oh, wall space in my house generally refers to the area between frames. LOL. Luvs visited me in Jan when on a motorhome trip, she can testify to how how much stuff I've got.
So I definitely do NOT need to be collecting dishes now. My daughter is hoping I'll live forever, she sure doesn't want to deal with all this someday. Her two brothers would leave town. LOL. hugs, Karen |

I think I heard your Pretties say - We Want To Come Out To Play .. How Can you be So Cruel??? LOL I'm another who loves toile.
When I sold my home, the woman wanted my Bedding..because it matched the Window treatments and the Bathroom Wallpaper!
I told her where she could buy her own!! I was taking it with me..lol Right now, I have toile in my DR and BedRm..
and upstairs Guest Rm.. I think it's so timeless. You're right, Rooster Toile Plates are very popular...
I think you'll really enjoy them..and WE want to see them! jane |

| Jane, you DO love toile! I don't think most of my collection works for vignette since it consists of hundreds of whippets, horses, and rabbits. LOL. Tho you are right, I could let something come out and play I guess. Hey Guys...I just won the 5 pc set. No one bid, so I got it for $8. Plus $8 to ship. Punk, my home is far from huge. At least compared to the folks I know here. Its about 2000 sq feet. I'm attaching a link to my album for my livingroom and familyroom area where most of the china cabinets are. I cram a lot into them! It'd be the same no matter what size house I had, LOL. I love too many things, and am an obsessive collector.
