artificial tree?

I am looking at getting a new artificial tree. Space is a problem, but I think I would prefer a slim to a table top. I have not seen them in person, only on line. Does anyone have a slim tree, and do you like it?

RE: artificial tree?

I have three slim trees and like them a lot. I originally bought two 6-7-foot tall ones for my children's bedrooms. I got both at HL. They've held up well these past 10 years and I no complaints about them at all. A couple weeks ago I picked up another slim-line tree at HL on sale. This one is for our guest room and has a natural wood/bark trunk on it. The only thing I don't like about this new one is that it doesn't break down into pieces and fit in a box for storage. Unless you have a good place to store it, I'd steer away from that kind. My DH is not going to be happy when he sees this new one and we have to find a place to store it!

I have a 4-foot artificial tree that I put on a table. It is not slim, but I don't take it apart any more as I used to. I just carry it to our basement and store it in a corner. I leave all the lights on it and so far so good with not having to replace them! We are Green Bay Packer fans so that tree is decorated in green & gold and I have quite the collection of GB ornaments.

I would love to have a pre-lit slim tree for our downstairs family room that has pretty much a rustic country decor. Maybe just a few pine cones, deer, moose, etc. type ornies.

We have one in our den. We bought it for $15 dollars after Christmas a few years ago. The first year we used it, we fell in love with it. These slim trees are wonderful for small rooms. You can put LOTS of ornaments and tons of lights on them, and they are beautiful. - Gail

Thank you all for you information. I will look for a slim tree.
A question my DIL was wonderfing. Has anyone bought a tree from treeclassics.com?

The slim trees are great for cramped spaces, I use one in my DR. You just want to make sure you get a good quality one, a lot of the really inexpensive ones branches are not very strong/stiff for holding heavier ornaments. I have found the more expensive the tree is the branches are stonger. I have seen advertisements for the treeclassics they look really nice, and I remember last year there were some GWers that recommended that brand.

Remember to look for those internet coupons for tree classics. Coupon code:NW33 will give you an extra 10% off the sale prices.

Thank you on that coupon for 10%. I have limited space in living room, and with the 3 dogs would like it in the corner. I wasn't going to bother, but I have so many old ornaments...I miss them. I looked on the site and they look very nice.

Love the slims. I used the slim trees for years. Our slim was purchased many years ago at a local garden center that sells all kinds of Christmas trees, ornaments and various other Christmas decorative things in the off season.

I found that most attractive of the slims are called "down swept' which were very natural looking trees, only were not pre-lit.

I purchased a Martha Stewart 7 1/2 foot pre-lit the day after TG last year for a steal!

Also, we have a new addition, as we took in a stray cat that kept coming around last winter. I actually got the MS tree out of the attic today. I want to set it up during the week to let it "settle" for a week before I decorate. I am praying that our new boy doesn't climb the darn thing. I've never had a problem with any of the other cats we have. However, our new guy is a beautiful Norweigan Forest cat. NFC's are known for climbing and the tendency to perch up high. Fingers crossed.

Please post a pic of your tree once you decorate it. I was amazed how many ornaments I needed for my MS tree. That's another advantage of the slims. Less ornaments needed!

Work,
I purchased the Martha Stewart 7 1/2 foot slim tree last year too. Got it on sale right before TG, but probably not at a 'Steal' like you!!
Love the slim tree for my DR. It fits perfectly in the corner. It's full, has a nice shape, and doesn't inpact the room at all.
