| There is something about this place that makes things jump out and give one a new thrill. Don't know how long I've had these but I sure got excited about them today. I was going through my Christmas totes and found this box of acorns. Couldn't resist adding them to my table decor. And I just said I was going to do pinecones instead of acorns. Maybe I do want to play and do the acorn dance with all of YOU.LOL

RE: Amazing

| Thanks Tammy for your sweet comment on my table. I just remembered Jane had ask me to post a picture with my pumpkin bowls. I forgot to remove the crystal ones first but I like it better with the pumpkin bowls. What do the rest of you think. Thanks to everyone for all the help. Who knows, I might catch on if I keep trying.LOL I need more play time but I'm sure in time it will come. Punk

Your table looks great, and I love your acorns. Are the Pumpkin bowls Mikassa? |
RE: Amazing

| Punk, looks to me like you've caught on just fine! You're a 'natural', must be that artistic eye you have! Your table is beautiful. Had to laugh about the acorns after you saying just pinecones, cause I ordered a bag of acorns myself from the gal on Etsy. LOL. Luvs sure started something with her "acorn computer virus" she spread. LOL. hugs, Karen |

| What a pretty table and I LOVE those pumpkin bowls. Where does everybody find these?? I've been looking for 2 years! Donna in Fla |
RE: Amazing

| Kathleen, thanks for your comment. I wish the pumpkin bowls were Mikassa but they are from Target. It's so amazing what draws my attention now that didn't before. If I had more time I would be rumaging through every thing I could find of GM and DM's.LOL This way it's always a treat when I stumble upon a new treasure. I found an old cookie cutter that was my DGM or GGM today that I'd like to post to see if anyone would know how old it is or has any like it. Is this something others would be interested in? I also have another one which must be quit old also. I plan to hang them on my Christmas Tree from now on with a note on the back. I'm having DH spray paint some other older metal ones white so I can paint roses on them. Always need something new to play with.LOL Punk |

| Your table is beautiful! I honestly can't decide which photo I like better. Your china is so pretty and the placemats are perfect with it. Is your stemware Longchamps? |
RE: Amazing

| Punk, I know nothing about old cookie cutters, but often when I wonder about something, I check to see if it or something similar is on eBay. If so, I usually can get a lot of info from there. Just search 'all items' and put in vintage cookie cutter. Or search 'antiques' and put in cookie cutter. See if anything comes up. Google is my other information place I go too. LOL. hugs, Karen |
RE: vintage cookie cutters

| Punk, I just did a quick google search and looks like plenty of info there. Hope you find yours and let us know about it. hugs, Karen |
Here is a link that might be useful: vintage cookie cutters

| Those are some nice looking acorns, Punk. They are such a nice size. Are they real or faux? Very pretty and just the perfect thing to add to your tablescape. Love your pretty pumpkin bowls too. ;o) If I'm gonna spread a "virus", I'm glad it only has to do with decorating with acorns! LOL Luvs |

| Sorry ladies, we were posting at the same time and I was making dinner rolls so wasn't refreshing very ofter. Karen, Thanks for all your comments. Your so fun and I laughed that you ordered acorns. Do you plan on showing us on the table or with your other decorations. Woman, you are going to end up loving the kitchen if your not careful.LOL I did some browsing and what they call vintage are some that I use now.LOL But there was some on ebay like I wanted to know how old and so far it didn't say. I'll have to start watching for these at yard sales and TS. Way to much info for what time I have.haha Dream, thanks so much for your comment. My stemware is Longchamps. My favorite set was used on my DD wedding arch and she sold it all for $100 with most of her wedding decorations. Not the most popular subject with me. Sigh!!! I'm getting over it but it is really sad now that I'm into tablescapes and would be using them. Punk |

Wow Punk... I'm gone for a couple of days and 'Poof'!! You've turned into an 'Addicted Tablescaper' LOL Love your table..with the acorns...and sooo happy to see you brought your Pumpkin Bowls out to Play!! Everything looks so pretty. Your table has just blossomed and I'm not surprised. You've got that creative talent going for you. What fun going through all those treasures and finding such wonderful goodies from you DM and DGM. I'm looking forward to seeing them. I've got some old cookie cutters from my DM..they're the old metal ones, like the ones on the site Karen sent you. I used to use them years ago, when my DD was little. Now I just have them as keepsakes. My DD has some too, and she tied them on her Kitchen tree with some Cinnamon Sticks and Dried Orange Slices. They look really cute. Love to see what you have, and see what you do. jane |

| Luvs, My acorns are faux. They came in several sizes. Right on, if your gonna spread a "virus", decorating with acorns is one of the best. Jane, I've missed you and was about to send out the internet police to locate you and make sure you are all right. Sounds like we have the same cookie cutters. Do you have any idea what the age is? DD's idea sounds cute and I will share when I get some painted. I will post a few Christmas decorating pictures from today. I'll be tweaking till Christmas but this will be a start. Punk |
RE: Amazing

I thought this was a cute idea for displaying holiday cookie cutters. Of course being able to paint like Punk and Luvs would be a huge help to do the Santa on a metal star.
hugs, Karen |

| Oh Karen, that is adorable. I need to go get my dinner rolls wrapped and put in the freezer and head to bed. I just gave myself a nice raise so I could shop more. Now I'm thinking, I'd like to quit work so I could play on the computer more. Makes one wonder what what's up with that kind of thinking. Oh yea, I'm tired and need to close for now.LOL Thanks again and I'll be back tomorrow night after work. Punk |
RE: Amazing

| Oh those big acorns are really neat & I like everyone else, love those white pumpkin bowls! Wish I had room for some of them, but I am plain out of room for much more new things. You are right, things we've had for ages & even think to just get rid of, turn up on here & we find a new use for them. Just remembered I have a pretty acorn ornament I bought last year at Cracker Barrel, maybe I'll add it to my Thanksgiving table! LOL |
RE: Amazing

| Nice Job! I haven't seen any nice real-looking big acorns like those around here. I love the wooden bowl under your pumpkin, the amber compotes, and the amber dish you have the acorns in. And I know you painted the lovely tray. Such talent! Those pumpkin soup bowls are really nice. Our Target just doesn't have that much of a selection of things. Maybe I don't go in there often enough, but I hardly ever find anything I can't live without. Y'all find all kinds of neat stuff. :o( Betty |

| Oooh, yes! I really love the table set with the white pumpkin bowls. That looks great! I like the little compotes (Is that the right name?) filled with acorns & pine cones. I guess I'll have to be on the lookout for acorns, too. I did find find a S & P shaker set at TJ Maxx, but I didn't pick them up. |

Punk...giving 'yourself' a raise so you can shop more!! Now that's enjoying the benefits of being your own boss...lol Glad to hear all is well in that dept.! I'm thinking those cookie cutters have to be late 40's early 50's. I know my DM used them when I was very little and right on through to when I was older. They are so nostalgic. Karen's pic was a cute idea too with hanging them...on that painted Santa... Both you and Luvs could do most anything with your painting skills and would be fun to see. I'm looking forward to seeing them and any other decorations you set up. Right now, I'm just taking a break from doing all my Christmas decorating. I always start out with - I'm not doing too much this year..and it just grows and grows..lol Thanks for noticing I was 'missing in action'...I've been fighting a cold as I'm trying to get things done, however, I'm just plugging away. jane |
RE: Amazing

| Hugs to you Ms. Slink...I hate having a cold :^( Punk, the table looks wonderful...I love the dishes :^) and Karen that Santa is wonderful...I'm no painter, but I can see what Luvs and Punk could do with that....you could even put long ribbons on it and pin your Christmas cards to them. Thanks for posting! |
RE: Amazing

| Karen, that is a cute idea with the santa painted star--should I (or should I not) tell you--both Dollar tree and Big Lots has those painted stars? At Dollar tree, they are not too big, but there was a Santa, and a couple with snowmen. They also had all sizes and colors of jingle bells. Luvs Disclaimer: Now if you decide to go to Dollar Tree to take a look, I am only going to accept responsibility for the stars you buy--if you fill up your whole cart like last year--that's all on you! LOL |

Oh jeez, now Luvs is posting DISCLAIMERS. LOL, what a hoot. She is certainly prepared for anything isn't she? I am afraid I have no one to blame for my "Twenty Dollar Tree" purchases but myself. That store is absolutely the worst place for me to go! And I need gift wrap and ribbon but scared to go get it now. LOL. Jane, all you have to do is miss ONE day here and I miss you terribly. I'm sorry you've been sick, and hope you're feeling a lot better now. hugs, Karen |

| Yachter, We'd love to see your acorn ornament and I bet it will be dandy set on your Thanksgiving table. I never think to go to Cracker Barrel but if all of you keep reminding me, I'll try to plan on eating there when I'm in town and check out all the goodies for sale. Betty, my DD goes to Target every Fri. night for the mark downs and gets the best deals. Maybe you shop to early in the day.LOL I have a couple of bright yellow towels I bought one night for $1 each and they are so thick and heavy, I wish I would of bought more. Cindy, I call them compotes and I hope if you go back to TJ Maxx they still have the S & P shakers. Luvs has started something all of us are enjoying for sure. If you shop be sure and share pictures. Jane, you like the fact I'm the one who gives raises? So do I and thanks for the well wishes. I sure hope your cold is getting better all the time. I'll bet your close with the cookie cutter dates if you remember them. How old are you???LOL I can hardly wait to see your decorations and tables. Luvs and Karen, disclaimers are printed for a reason and that's all I'm saying.haha I need to go do dishes and want to thank all of you for the fun tonight. Karen, please post pictures of your shopping trip.LOL I think Luvs knows you all to well, girlfriend! Punk |
RE: Amazing

| Punk, I think you've "caught on" to tablescaping very well as well as "caught" that "acorn virus". I'm resisting as I'm trying not to buy into any more themes as that would lead to more collections and stuff! I think the pumpkin bowls are perfect for your soup course and the amber crystal dishes for dessert. How's that for using both? Your china is very pretty. |

| Jay..thank you for the ((((hugs))).. you're a sweetie, and it felt good! Karen..so sweet of you to miss me... I miss it here too when I'm not joining in. I did peek in every now and then, however, I was too pooped to write. I'm loving that Luvs is 'Protecting' herself w/Disclaimers... and WE are all witness to it! So don't be trying to put the blame on her... Whatever goes 'jumping' in your cart...Was NOT the Devil or Luv's fault >>> just little ole YOU! (Ummm now girlfriend) don't forget to share it with your partner's in crime here... We do need our daily fix to get by....hehehehe Punk...I'm feeling better thanks. I don't have time for it to totally bring me down..only when I breathe...stand still, talk and walk!! LOL How old am I....well let's just say 'My mind hasn't caught up with my body just yet'.. but then when I look in the mirror..that 'Stranger' tells me differently!!! LOL As far as my decorations...when this Family Reunion is over after Dec 5th...I then will get to have a couple of weeks before Christmas, to enjoy it all...That's the good part with having to put them up so early. Christmas comes and goes so fast and then it's time to take everything down again. jane |

| Thanks Luckygal, your so sweet and I need to resist on some of my shopping. I have way to many decorations but there's always something new to keep us buying. Jane, have you seen the picture that you can turn upside down? One way she looks like Cinderealla and the other way she could be my twin.LOL As you stated, stranger, yah, that's the one. Your reunion must take so much work but must be so fun. Take care of yourself and we will laugh later. Punk |
