Harvest Moon Pic . . . and an Autumn Dec Pic, Too

I'm still working on my Thanksgiving and Autumn decs, but did want to show you a picture I took the other morning, as the full Harvest moon was setting over the town below us. For those of you that don't "know" me, we live in the mountains of New Mexico between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Although it kind of looks like there's a 1000ft drop off to the down below, there really isn't . . . although they probably are at an elevation 1000' lower than my village. It's really a gradual grade change down to them.
Anyhoo, I took this from my front portal around 6AM. It turned out so pretty that I thought I'd share it with you.

And here's my dining room buffet, done for Thanksgiving. Nothing very special, but it works for now. I may change out the orange mums for gold roses for Thanksgiving Day, though. The angel candleholder on the right is actually not light, as it looks in this pic. It's more of a soft brown color.

Lovely pic of the moon, sometimes it looks so close you could just reach out and touch it, doesn't it? I was enjoying it on Halloween night here, made such a nice back drop for all those little Trick or Treaters who were running around. ;o)

Your buffet looks really nice--and I love how you added the leaf and acorn to the lamp shade--just a perfect added touch--and you know I love those acorns! ;o)

The moon is beautiful, Lynn. I am pretty clueless about mountain areas, how long does it take to get down to the village below you? That has to be a terrific view later at night with the twinkling lights and full moon.

Your buffet is so serene looking. The mums are the perfect touch.

TFS,

Lee

What a great pic of the moon and view. You are very fortunate to have such views. Your mums are the perfect accent to your buffet, with a piece like that it doesn't need much adornment. I wish I could stop at something so simple and elegant, but I add a little here and there and well you know the rest (excess) oh well. Great job.

That's a beautiful scene and I'm feeling kinda dumb as I was admiring the full moon earlier this week but never thot to take a pic! I'll remember next time.

Your buffet is lovely, I love the angels, and the spray on the lamp looks wonderful. The muted colors of the runner are so nice.

Well, since I am a Moon Lover in a big way, this picture is a keeper for me. What a gorgeous view you have too!
Your buffet is very pretty and I especially like the idea of the sprig on the lamp. One of those "big bang for little bucks" things that I love.

hugs, Karen

And your buffet looks lovely too.

Wow, what a view thanks for sharing.

Your buffet looks lovely and since I'm a fool for roses, I think it will be even more so with some roses in a gold shade. Love the leaves and berries on the lampshade too. - Gail

Oh Lynn! That moon!! I just kept it on my screen for the longest time. I LOVE a big old moon.

I like the understated elegance of your buffet. Isn't it funny how some things don't photograph true to color? It's still a beautiful piece.

Lynn,

Great picture of the moon and valley below. Your dining room buffet is beautiful and your acorn and leaf addition to your lamp shade is wonderful. You know how to decorate for sure. TFS

Lynn...love your moon picture. Such a beautiful view to enjoy each day..and I'm sure each season.

The whole setting with your buffet is just so lovely and serene.
The flowers are a nice added touch of color, and the angel candleholder is a beautiful piece.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, our views up here are gorgeous. Lee it takes me about ten minutes max to drive from my house near the village here down to the town below us. That's actually 2 towns down there, as they're kind of running together lately. Urban sprawl in not something we're used to here in New Mexico, but it is happening in a few places.

As for my buffet, I do like to keep it simple as we use that area as a buffet most evenings at dinner (we eat dinner in our dining room pretty much every night except Fridays, as well as weekend breakfasts). But, that said, I LOVE seeing all your not-as-simple centerpieces and vignettes. They're gorgeous!

Your views are to die for. What makes your place so special is the fact that you've shown us beautiful pictures all year, not just during one or two seasons.

I see the side/back or my neighbors' walls. Just a tad bit jealous here in Upland, CA.

WOW, that moon is spectacular! I love living in the mountains but we never get glimpses of the moon like that one! Your fall display looks lovely, I like the brightness of the orange.
