Pie in a Jar

Posted by melvalena (My Page) on

This is just amazing! (or maybe I'm just hungry?)

I'm thinking:

1. placing one on each plate for Thanksgiving dinner? (each person gets their favorite pie?)

2. Christmas gifts for nearly anyone (Everyone gets Pie!!! hahahaha, now I know I'm hungry.. )

3. having a bunch on hand for those last minute gotta get a gift for so-and-so moments

4. for people at hubby's office

5. STASH FOR ME!!!!

6. ooohhh... what about some savory ones too? quiche anyone?

7. stocking stuffers

8. I can see us putting 2 in the oven when we sit down for dinner.. then.. later in the evening while watching tv we can have warm pie and ice cream... yummm

I'm sure most of you can come up with even more ideas.

Here is a link that might be useful: pie in a jar

Melvalena,

Well if this isn't the best thing that's come along since chococolate, I don't know what is. I love pie and these look easy to make. You #8 is my favorite. I could eat apple pie alamode everyday. TFS Punk

How cute those are, would be great for hostess gifts and just to have on hand for when the ol sweet tooth kicks in! That's a neat site, thanks for sharing it with us, Melvalena. I'm sure I'll go back and check out some of the other ideas and recipes. Luvs

Those are so neat! I'm no baker, but I think even I could do that. I like their idea of making chicken pot pies that way too.

Awesome idea! I planned to make about 10-12 gifts in a jar type gifts for my co-workers. I love that these can be made in advance and frozen. Thanks for sharing!

Bulldinkie, do you then eat the cakes out of the jar? Do you use a box mix or homemade? Are they the single serving size like these pies? I've seen all the mixes in a jar, but actually cooking in the jar is new to me.

Also want to say welcome to the forum--and what an unusual forum name you have! ;o)
