Did you see these acorn tureens?

| Oh my goodness! I just went over to Between Naps on the Porch to check out the Tablescape Thursday posts--and couldn't believe Susan's table with ACORN tureens on each plate! They are so pretty and really made me drool. She said they are from Wm Sonoma, so I imagine they are out of my price range--but it's free for me to look at her's and enjoy them, right? Have you all seen them already? If not, here's the link.

I was so excited that I forgot to mention that she also has pheasant plates--two different sizes--on her table too! All you pheasant lovers can drool over those and the ones in her centerpiece. Luvs |

| Acorns really do seem popular this year. Don't want you to miss this tablescape using the "acorn plates" (thank you again, Betty!) and some brown/white turkey plates. Okay, this is enough from me. I won't share more if I find them--it's just that I'm loving all these fall tablescapes. Luvs |

| Luvs, You BETTER HAD show us if you find any more pretty stuff!! I don't want to miss anything. I had already checked out Susan's. I never miss her's. That girl is really talented and finds the most unique items for me to drool over. Her tablescapes are always 'To Die For'. I wonder where she found the pheasant pair. I haven't found a price on that Spode Woodland china yet. They had a price on the Woodland flatware, but not the china. I love it and really would like to invest in a set of that. And I went to the WS link and found that the acorn soup tureen set is no longer available!! DRATS! They didn't even give a price. It would have been nice if they would have at least given the price. That way I would KNOW I can't afford them! LOL I was going to give you a holler about those tureens, but after they weren't available I figured why tease you with something you can't have. I did leave a comment on their site asking about the future availability and price. WOW!! Wasn't that table at Stone Gable beautiful? She had the acorn theme to the max didn't she? Those large jeweled acorns were awesome! Wonder where she found those beauties. She even had a garland (rope?) of acorns. Did you see that? And those pretty little bunches of 3 shiny acorns in her centerpiece really added the perfect touch to the arrangement. You've got me wanting acorn stuff now!! But, my heart is still on the pheasants. they are soooo pretty with their long tail feathers. They have ATTITUDE!! LOL If you find any more pretties, you really do need to show us. OK? We have to stick together and "SHARE THE LOVE". LOL Betty |

| Jay and Betty, I get so excited when I run across something that I just know the gals on here would love to see! There are just too many wonderful blogs out there for me to keep up with them. I do try to make it to most of the ones linked on Tablescape Thursday, but sometimes it takes me all week to do it! Betty, I hope a really pretty pair of pheasants turns up for you. I'll start keeping an eye out for them when I shop or browse too. I DID NOT see the acorn garland--I'll have to go take another look. She seemed to find allot of things at Homegoods--I have one close by, but sure don't find all the things in mine that other's seem to find. Maybe I need to try one in another neighborhood! Isn't it fun how when someone shows us something they love to collect, we all start to love them too? That's how I got started on the forums--loving glass totems and stacked pots on GJ, and then the stacked plates Judith shared on Home Dec. Since then there have been so many things! ;o) Luvs |

| You gals are so funny and I really should go back into hiding before my walls start to bludge from all my collecting. I want to start playing with Christmas already and I think I'll try to go with pinecones more than acrons so one of us has something different.LOL The acorns are pretty cool though. Luvs, I went and was looking and my computer encountered an error and had to shut down so don't remember who's site I was on but it had a virus. With the luck I've had lately I won't go back and take a chance again and I could of spent hours looking at everyones tables and dec. I agree the pheasants are so unique. We have alot of them here. We even have them in our yard some days. Punk |

LOL, Punk. I have to do pinecones since my neighbor's big ol' pine tree hangs over my backyard. But I am soooo tempted to buy some acorns. A gal on Etsy is selling them (bags of 35 or 50) fairly reasonable with shipping. She even glues the caps on and makes sure all the acorns are pretty and blemish free. I'm trying to resist...but its hard. By the way, sometimes Blogs make my computer lock up. No reason and no virus, just happens. I just wait a day and then go back to the Blog that locked it and have no problem. Have had this happen fairly often trying to look at all the tablescape links. hugs, Karen |

| Betty, I'm thinking Susan got those pheasants at Hobby Lobby last year. As for the Spode Woodland china, I finally buckled last week and ordered four place settings to start. It isn't cheap, but I'll link to the site I bought it from, which was the best price I could find. I know I'm truly dish obsessed because last night I dreamed that the Woodland came in, and instead of looking like it does, it was done up in light blue and gold and had a sort of Asian flair to it. In my dream I was thinking it was pretty, but I wanted the original! LOL. |

| Punk, I don't think it was a virus either--if so, it would have affected the rest of us too. I agree with Karen, and think it might just be because there are so many pictures, or perhaps we are viewing at a time our own signal strength is not so good. I've not heard of any blogs being infected with virus', usually just emails. Sorry you weren't able to see, sure lots of pretties on both of those! Tammy, that is so funny about your dream--hey, maybe you could just have "both" sets of dishes! LOL Karen, I've thought the same thing about buying real acorns. (Well, actually my first thought was to try to find out if there are any oak trees around here so I might just go "collect" a few fallen ones.) Wonder if they last well or do they start to rot and get "buggy"? Maybe Jaybird or someone could answer that for us. I've always used real pinecones. I love how they look and they are plentiful. And you can use them natural, or spray paint them, or glitter them, or add ribbons and greenery to the tops, or coat them with wax, scent them with cinnamon, etc. No reason we all can't use pinecones AND acorns! LOL Luvs |

| What do you serve in a tureen at Thanksgiving? None of our family traditional dishes ever included a soup. Wonder if they are oven safe and could be used for individual bread puddings? Or a Fall egg souffle' brunch? I've had that in ramekins. I do not have any individual tureens yet but I can see how special they make a table look. |
RE: Did you see these acorn tureens?

| Luvs, apparently you can do acorns like pinecones and 'dry' them in a low oven to kill any bugs. Tho I never did that with pinecones and never had a problem. I think the gal on Etsy made sure the acorns were ok from her description. hugs, Karen |
RE: Did you see these acorn tureens?

| Luvs, I think I read on one girl's blog that she always freezes her acorns for at least 72 hours to kill all of the little 'wormies'. WOW! Tammy that Spode Woodland is beautiful. I would really like to have it, but I think I will have to hold off for a while. Maybe, if the ecomomy picks up and DH's job security gets a little more stable I will go ahead and invest. That will give us more time to address our (non-existent) storage issues. Thanks for the link. Let me know when your china arrives. I know you are excited if you dream about it! I can't wait to see your tablescape using it. Betty |
RE: Did you see these acorn tureens?

| I do the KILL thing with the pine cones, LOL..I can't take bugs! Tammy congrats on your new china.. The acorn covered bowls I have are oven safe, so I imagine the tureen would be too. Some people always start the meal with soup..we do at Christmas, but not Thiving. Although an acorn tureen of butternut squash soup would be wonderful! |
