| Told DH I wanted to check out the new TS in a nearby town that my neighbor had told me about. To my surprize, he agreed to go along! He went past the driveway, so I told him to go on up to a small GW, and we'd look there then turn around and come back. What a lucky thing for me that I said that! Just take a look at what I found for only $1.99! Woo Hoo!
Here's the back.

Woo Hoo is right Luvs. Congratulations! I see you smiling from here... That was meant for you! I like the swirl on the pitcher and the relief pattern is very pretty against the white background. jane |

| Ah, you found another acorn treasure. Congratulations, Luv. - Gail |

| Luvs, the way you're "into" acorns that was a great find & a great price. Thank your dh for missing the driveway to the other TS!!! |

Wow, that pitcher was just waiting for you. Your DH did great wanting to go in the first place, then to make just the right 'goof'. LOL. Maybe he should give mine a few lessons, and NOT on the golf course. hugs, Karen |

| Luvs, that is a great treasure. Congrats on your acorn find (and having DH as a driver/companion). I love serendipitous events! Lee |

| Knew you would all be impressed that he actually agreed to go with me! I think I broke him in on that one trip to Vegas when I got him to go with me--told him I didn't want to be running all over town alone and might get lost! LOL He goes into the store, looks around a bit and then finds a place to sit and wait. Of course, I still have to work on breaking him of giving me "the look" when he sees my "treasures"! ;o) Even with this one, I was so excited because it had acorns on it, and he says "what do you need another pitcher for?" and I sweetly replied "not one with acorns!" ;o) I do have to admit that I think I prefer going without him so I can take my time and NOT have to "justify" my finds, but this way he will get used to it and hopefully be more willing to stop when we are on our motor home trips. It's a beauty, Luvs.. I agree, I like to shop sans the dish policeman. Even if the words aren't spoken, I know what he is thinking. Enjoy your treasure, you deserve it! |

| Wow, you did great. It's beautiful and the price, you stole it for sure. |

Luvs, I LUV it when you gals find a treasure at a sale or TS. It's a great thing when you find something that goes along with your theme, and always a nice surprise. The trick with your DH is to find something HE gets involved in. Mine is into science fiction paperbacks, and he heads for the book section when we're on road trips. I'm usually finished before he is! - Magpie |
RE: Lucky find

| Good suggestion Magpie--just not sure what item that would be for him since there are no tools usually! I have thought about asking him to look for specific things for me, like rose plates, pitchers, etc. Will try that next time. ;o) Luvs |

| I'm 'Luv'-ing it! It is so YOU right now!! That acorn-scape is going to be the BOMB with all of the goodies you are finding!! Isn't it exciting when something PERFECT falls right into your lap? I'm glad that your DH went. Even though I think we all agree we feel more freedom to browse, buy, and just 'fondle' as Jane says when our DHs aren't with us, we still need to take them with us sometimes. They need that training time. For example: Last night DH made the statement that he knows I've got him trained because when he went to Big Lots the other day he had to check out the dishes before he left to see if there was anything that caught his eye!! So you see - they are in training and don't even realize it until it is too late!! Life is good. Betty |

That's it... get them going on some 'mission' for you. I've done that... told DH ..'I'm loking for..' and then he feels the need to look too! lol..doesn't always work, but it's always worth a try. I know at the CTS there used to be a larger Hardware/gadget section..not any more and he's usually done in less than 10 mins. So he's usually like Luv's DH sitting on a bench waiting or sometimes in the car listening to Talk Radio. It's hard with them cause you know they're 'lurking' and cramping your style! lol Betty you've got a winner there..he's trained well..and I love what you said, 'They Don't Even Realize It'...LOL Love It. jane |

| Luvs, Your pitcher is a wonderful find for you and what a fun story. I bet you will be doing a tablescape with all acorns if you keep this up. Good for you to find another acorn piece. We all need to remember behind every successful man is a woman spending their money and we are just the ones who know how to do it. Punk |
RE: Lucky find

| Oh, that was truly a lucky find, a nice vase, at a great price! My DH has improved a lot over the years. He's found enough great buys that he knows it's worth having a look. When he's looked at the books and made a quick browse round the store he goes out to the truck to read. Sometimes he sees things he thinks I might like and brings them to me! I've told him to pick things up and not leave them on the shelf in case someone else gets there first. He also realizes when I shop more in YS's and Thrifts I spend less at "real" stores. |
RE: Lucky find

| LOL, Betty, once again you've cracked me up. Bless Alfred, now he's looking at dishes all by himself. And he even realizes you've 'trained' him. Whatta Guy! (but we all knew that anyway I think.) I HATE shopping with my DH. Because I'm mostly housebound, he really doesn't mind me asking him to drive me someplace on his NON-golf day. (he plays 6 days a week). He'll walk thru a store with me, or sit in car and read. I prefer he read. Even tho he says nothing about what I look at, or buy, I just don't enjoy my shopping with him along. Poor guy, he cramps my style without even meaning to. Nothing in stores interests him, unless its a golf shop. LOL. But thankfully he never, ever complains. hugs, Karen |

| So pretty....I love acorn things too! |

You did GREAT Luvs!!! That is a really pretty pitcher! Did you get back to look at the things in the shop that you missed????? DH and I shop our way around the country when we travel. He looks for tools and when they run out he knows what to look for in dishes and glass ware.....surprisingly, he is a careful looker!!!! The only problem is, when he finds something he gets excited and I hear this bellow from across the store "J......, come here....look what I found". The bellow is usually followed by everyone in the store giggling!! :^) |

| Jaybird, we did get back to the other store. Didn't like it much because even though it just opened, it was not organized well and was very messy. I did find a cute little snowman plate which I will share as Christmas draws near. I was showing DH some of these posts about all the other husbands and he was laughing. He said he never realized there were so many "treasure hunters" out there. LOL Luvs |
