my two new purchases

I thought these mercury glass deer were fantastic. They are big, 15 x15, and really heavy. I saw them at Michaels two wks ago and wanted one so badly. But the $70 price tag was too high for me. So I went back with a 40% off coupon and got myself one. My daughter loved it and wanted to get one also, next coupon went to her's. The deer are slightly different and are a beautiful PAIR, but neither of us can justify buying two. So I figure someday she'll end up with mine and have a pair afterall. LOL.
and while there I spotted this beautiful PURPLE Nutcracker for my collection!! Next time I have a 40% off coupon, I'm going back and get the Santa that goes with him. The Nutcracker was just $15, but the Santa was $34. I got the King Nutcracker but they had a matching Soldier one too.
hugs, Karen

The deer are beautiful.. And of course you HAD to have a purple nutcracker, Karen!!! Did you know you can print coupons from the puter for Michael's?! So you could get one, and go back and get another 40 off... |

| The deer are beautiful, Karen. And I love the purple nutcracker. He is very handsome, and such a pretty color. Lee |

I agree those deer are beautiful. I've never seen a purple nutcracker before...so I guess this one was made for YOU! lol I print out those coupons Michael's all the time. Just register yourself with them online, and they always send them to you. jane |

| Thanks, I registered for Michaels online and can get the coupons easy now. No waiting for the Sunday paper. Yay. Purple is getting more and more popular for Christmas the last few years I think. (and now Halloween) I have a small purple lighted tree for a table, and quite a few purple ornaments. Then after last Xmas I found a purple garland. Guess I'll have whole little purple vignette this year if I can find the appropiate place for one. LOL hugs,Karen |

| Karen, I think you have a great plan for the deer in the future and for now it will be fun to see how you display it for Christmas. They are big and sounds like an item you will want to watch and see if they have any left after Christmas so you can have your set now. Your purple nutcracker is so pretty even being a guy. He's very classy with the glitter. Is santa painted purple also? Punk |

| Punk, the Santa's robe is purple and silvery grey. Same shades as on the Nutcrackers. He's really elegant looking I think. I actually saw him first and thought 'next coupon'. Then I saw the Nutcracker. They had plenty of the Santa's but only a couple of these Nutcrackers. hugs, Karen |

| Wonderful buys, Karen! The deers are absolutely beautiful and I like the Nutcracker design, very special but awesome! |

| Your deer are a classic and will look lovely in your winter vignettes. Love mercury glass! Nice to get them with a coupon. I just registered at Michaels online, never knew about that so thanks to those who mentioned it. I only get there a few times a year but might find more "specials" now. Michaels in Canada charges high prices as we never get the current dollar exchange. Anyhow, long story short, I only buy things that are on sale as otherwise it's too expensive. Fortunately I can almost always find something on sale. LOL Your purple nutcracker is very special, I can see how you had to have that! I love those things altho only have one and do not need another collection so am resisting buying more! |

What a beautiful deer, Karen! Do you plan on using it in a table centerpiece or what? You need to show us pics of how you use it once you get your Christmas decs up . . . ok, how early are you all putting Christmas decs up this year? Lynn |

| I'm not usually big on purple, but the nutcracker won me over. And the deer are so elegant. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with very little self-control. Great purchases. Syble |

Beautiful deer! DD found a pair of brass ones at a garage sale last week and brought them to me! You have trained me well!...Everytime I see something purple, I think about you...someday it will be something mailable and you will get a surprise!! Hugs to you, J |

| LOL, J, that's sweet you think of me when seeing purple. Lynn, yes my deer will have to be a centerpiece somewhere. He's just so big and needs his own place I think. I'm guessing my daughter might put her's on her dining-room table as she generally does a large arrangement in center. Its a big table. I have just a small round one, tho would work for my deer I think. As for WHEN to start Xmas decorating....I use to alway start the day after Thanksgiving, and thought everyone did. LOL. But in 07, it took me so long, due to the Fibromyalgia, that it seemed I didn't get to enjoy my stuff displayed near long enough. I had always taken things down on Jan. 1st. So last year I started the week BEFORE Thanksgiving with a lot, while still leaving up my Fall decor. But it still took me 3 wks due to physical limitations... and no help. I left mine up extra long last year, LOL, thanks to Luvs. She was planning a trip thru Phx and visiting and wanted to see it. So it was 3rd weekend in Jan before it all came down. So I got to enjoy it a few extra weeks! I do LOVE my Christmas things, and seems I don't get to enjoy them very long when it now takes me weeks to decorate. Frustrating. It would be so much easier if I didn't have to put so much stuff AWAY to make room for Christmas decos. Last year I put my Village in the Painted Pony cabinet, where it was safe from my orange tornado cat, Jazz. That meant moving over 100 ponies, two or three at time as they are fragile! What a chore. lot of walking. They went in Xmas closet on shelves, after I had to empty the shelves first of course. I am already feeling overwhelmed just thinking about decorating. My DH not only is NO help, he said if its so hard on me, then I should "just not do it". Arrrggghhh. NOT an option!!! But I'm thinking about putting up my village early this year since its so time consuming. Do y'all think that would look ok to do? It'll go in a china cabinet again due to that darn cat. Enough of my rambling, hugs, Karen |

| Karen, I think it would be ok to put your village up early. In fact, for something special, I think you can leave it out/up quite a while. If you enjoy looking at it, why not? Guess I am a Christmas grouch -- I like to wait until the middle of December for most of my decorations (such as they are), and leave up until January 6 or so. I know that is not the norm, most people seem to put them up the day after Thanksgiving. I just read this and realized Why did I think I would do *anything* normal?! lol |

Karen, Can't believe I didn't ohh and ahh over these in a post before now! I must have seen them in the late night hours when I only have the light of the "puter" to see by. Can't wake DH, you know. Both of these are so you. Especially the purple nutcracker. I can't wait to see how you use them. Wish we lived closer. I would come help. I need the exercise! Go ahead and give DH a sharp rap on the head for me. Just don't do it, indeed! Betty |

| I feel for you, Karen, with your fibromyaligia. That makes it painful and tiring, as well as very time consuming! I think it would be more than fine to start as early as you want this year. Just don't tire yourself doing too much at once. |
