Sharon, I have never used chicken wire for crafting but if you would search the web, I'm sure there is lots of ideas and maybe your gift package. If you want a square one, cut 6 squares the same size, wire together. Run a set of lights inside and cover with sheer material. You could add a bow to help cover bottom of gift where the material would be glued. Sounds so pretty. It would look similar to the glass blocks and bottles we have all had.

You really got me thinking on this idea. I would love to make something with chicken wire for a change. I don't have time to go get any but will try to keep this in mind next time I head out to shop.

Sharon, my apologies as this has nothing to do with the chicken wire gift decoration. But I think this is also a neat idea for a lighted 'package'.
Glass block, insert light string, add pretty ribbon.
