GardenWeb needs your feedback!

Hi everyone,

As you may have noticed, we've been sprucing up the site a bit. Among other things, we've added new ways to upload photos and email notifications of post replies. We are still cleaning out cobwebs and weeding some areas of the site, but we are also working on some bigger projects like a better search engine (yay!) and a mobile app. We'd also like to get some feedback from you. What enhancements or additions would you like to see? What do you love? What do you hate? Think big and small!

We can't promise the moon, but please know that we will read and consider every one of your ideas and suggestions. We appreciate your loyalty and dedication to our site and we know how important your community is to you. Help us make it even better!

Please use this post to offer your feedback. But, as always, you are welcome to contact me directly by clicking on my profile page.

Best regards,

Tamara Amey

RE: GardenWeb needs your feedback!

I'm so glad you asked. :)

I was just coming here to do a topc for some accessorizing advice since these ladies are great at tablescapes. But this is a Holiday forum.

The decoration forum doesn't do accessorizing.

I would love a Home Accessorizing board. IMO, that is the hardest part of decorating.

RE: GardenWeb needs your feedback!

Yes, definitely a better search engine!

Other things:

- the ability to edit one of your own posts!
- even better, the ability to delete one of own your posts!!!
- improve page loading speed! and put a server auto-refresh on the front page of forums!
- The ability to submit a post directly, without going through a 'preview' operation first!

RE: GardenWeb needs your feedback!

Well I'm pretty happy with things here. I like the post preview operation, as that is where I edit my posts since I tend to make typos and need to change things before I actually post them.

Thank you for all you do. I'd be lost without the Holiday Forum and the wonderful 'gang' on it.

RE: GardenWeb needs your feedback!

I also enjoy the Holiday Forum so much & also add to the Garden Junk one at times. The 'preview page' is a benefit for me, too...for looking at the pics I've posted esp...making changes, etc.

The 'search engine' is not so great I'm glad to hear you're working on that! GW is a great web! Thanks so much! Jeanne S.

Hi everyone!

You asked and we listened. Today we are very excited to be debuting our newest feature -- post editing! To use this feature, go back to the post you wish to correct and you'll find the link under the 'My Clippings' links on the right side of the page.

I want to give a special shout out to all the testers who tried to break the editing tool. ;) Your feedback was insightful and invaluable. Thank you!

You may have also noticed that we adjusted the login cookie awhile back so that you should not have to login repeatedly.

Stay tuned -- we have more cool things in the works!

As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Best regards,

Excellent! I sooooooo need that.

Take notes from Pinterest and steal their thunder.

RE: GardenWeb needs your feedback!

Tamara, would it be possible to change that Shirley Temple quote at the top of our Holiday Forum? Pretty much all of us have said we really don't care for it. Its depressing and definitely doesn't fit with the holiday spirit.
I am sure there are lots of quotes to choose from.

one suggestion...
"If you don't have Christmas in your heart, you won't find it under the tree".

Thank you again for our terrific Forum and all you do to keep things running smoothly.

RE: GardenWeb needs your feedback!

thank you for adding the edit Feature!!!

RE: GardenWeb needs your feedback!

yes, I second what purplemoon said about removing the Shirley Temple quote!!!

I would also like to see a FAQ associated with this forum where someone(s) could post the info and links that are so commonly requested and referenced here (e.g., PM's inspiration album links). I've often wondered about a 'Conversations' side to this forum, but I guess it's not needed because everyone seems to be able to post along as needed/desired.

And I love the edit feature too! Thank you. :)
