if you get bored and want to play.....

Here are a few fun "holidays" celebrated in Oct. I know OA has a stash of about everything and anything. LOL. But some of us might be able to come up with some stuff too.

Dishes OR a small table vignette...if you want to play!

Oct. 1st National Lace Day

Oct 2nd Guardian Angel Day

Oct 2nd Farm Animals Day

Oct 5th World Teachers Day

Oct 6th Mad Hatter Day

Oct 13 Bring Your Teddy Bear Day

I kind of liked Oct 11 being "Kick Butt Day" for some reason, LOL. Tho I don't think there's a table in that one. Just sounds good to me right now.

hugs, Karen

C.A., you are probably right. And knowing OA, she probably has one of those garden gnomes who's bent over mooning everyone to use. LOL.

I hope to participate in about 3 of those "holidays",
tho mine more likely will be table vignettes since I don't play well with dishes.
    ;o)

Luvs mentioned in another post that she'd like to do a black & white t'scape yet...& I've been pondering one of those, too (just need to make time to do it, right!) ... so maybe I'll choose the "guardian angel" date...I certainly know about GA's! Thanks, Purplemoon..."let the games begin!" LOL! Jeanne S.

Jeanne, planning my black/white for Halloween, so jump right in there with a GA one, can't wait to see it.

All these holidays make me laugh each time you gals post them. Who comes up with these things???? Certainly something for everyone!

Luvs, there's a site that lists what nearly every day of every month is 'celebrated' on. Most are serious stuff, or at least not funny, but I try to find the ones that would work here. Actually I should just ask OA to make up a list. LOL. She's great at coming up with ideas!!

Actually, most of mine are just remembered from my primary teaching days. I used them as themes to inspire my little first and second graders. Needless to say, Kick Butt Day was not among them - although I remember a few students who could have benefited from a little "celebration" along those lines.

I think Karen uses one of the sites that I've been on when looking for the unusual.

Here's a list I keep in my Tablescape Folder. I DO NOT vouch for its accuracy.

See! I told you OA could come up with stuff. LOL. To heck with google, I'll 'use' her.

Meanwhile, Jane, I was thinking I should get a bumper sticker or tee shirt...

Same here Kathleen, back up to the 3 digits again. I think I started too early last year and was tired of it by Thanksgiving, so waiting a bit this year. I do decorate inside with Fall items, but they really don't go too well with all my rose plates and more pastel decor!
