My Mother's Day Table

When I found these soft pink dishes at a local shop several months ago I knew I wanted to use them for my Mother's Day Table.

This is my Mother's wedding picture. She died in 1981 and I still miss her.

The table cloth and napkins are made from a piece of silver/gray satin.

I tried silver chargers but they overwhelmed the dishes,

so I used these trays from Dollar Tree.

I like them much better.

The stems belonged to my Mom.

I found the linen place mats at Big Lots.

They were a BEAR to iron.

I love the way the light radiates out from the tea lights!

I love the Pansy design on the dishes and wanted to use them in the cp, but I couldn't get them to stand up (darn].

So when my friend gave me the little cake plate I decided to make a cake.

Thanks Colleen.

This is just gorgeous. Those dishes were a super find and the table is so delicate, dainty, and looks like it is at a tea shoppe ready to serve a Mother's Day Tea. Even the cake!!!! That is the perfect complement to the dishes and looks yummy. What a thoughtful friend to give you such a sweet cake plate.
The trays from DT are the perfect frame for your plates. The placemats may have been difficult to iron, but it was worth it in the end. Did you try spray starch or spray sizing??
Your Mom's picture is beautiful and this is a lovely tribute to her.

Beautiful table. Just needs the cucumber sandwiches and a spot of tea, LOL.

    TFS,

Thanks, Candy. Cucumber sandwiches coming right up.
Would you like your tea with lemon or cream and sugar?

Nana..what a beautiful table. I love those dishes
you found. The pattern is so delicate. I think those
DT trays worked well adding just the right touch of
silver. Your tablecloth adds a nice softness to your
table and your 'Pansy Cake' makes a beautiful CP...clever
    thinking.
Your Mom would be so proud to be honored at this table..
She was a lovely woman. I can understand you still missing her.
I feel the same way about my Mom.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments.
    Candy, I used spray starch.
Remember the process for starching before spray starch came along?
Janet, I did make the tc and napkins. I would love to have you and all my friends here come to tea!!

    Where is that bus anyway??

Jeanne, the flatware is old I think it goes well with this table.
Jane, I love that picture of my Mother, It was done in sepia tone, then tinted.
Unfortunately it doesn't show her gorgeous auburn hair.

Nana, I'm late and trying to catch up here. What a truly beautiful table. I know your Mom would love it too. It makes a such a sweet tribute to her.

The china is gorgeous, so delicate looking. The 'softness' of the coloring and flowers is wonderful. I am snagging a photo to add to one of our Inspiration tablescape albums. (I need to catch some of those up when I can stay online longer.)

    hugs, Karen
