Mothers Day China Cabinet & Buffet

My Johanna Haviland Moss Rose dinnerware has grown from my $1 coffee pot to this! It was so
fun setting out all of this to honor my DM & DGM this year. I tried to use everything I had from the
past to honor these two special ladies this year. I have DM's baptismal certificate in her display
in the bedroom. Brought it out to share.

I'll start out with my buffet which has a mix of both of our dishes.

Here's a closeup of DGM's cup & saucer DSis shared w/me this year.

Now here's the china cab all decorated for Mothers Day. I set my other silver tea set on top.

The top picture is one of my great GM and DM's mother(my gramma). Below this is DM's baptismal
certificate. Next shelf is DM. On the bottom is one of DM's Mother Day plates with a book DD
gave me 'Dear Mom.'

Started this out with two ladies and my heart 'Mother's' plate w/kids birthstones. Next shelf has my
Moss Rose coffee pot, creamer & sugar which started this whole holiday decor this year. Next shelf
has hearts on upside down cups, two rose tea pots from DSis(love both of these and the little bird on
the one top, a mother's day mirror plaque from our kids and an angel figurine watching over. Bottom
shelf has DM's kitchen prayer plaque w/praying hands.

This side doesn't have as many personal touches.

Another picture of our Mothers Day Rose table to show how I tied it all together using roses.

We are hoping to get new flooring soon. Pretty sure this will be the last picture post from me
for awhile. I'll be on here enjoying all of your posts for sure tho. The kids helped us start packing
today. So much to pack & store to change out all the flooring. Time to bring out my running shoes.haha

Again, hoping all of you had a wonderful Mothers Day. Punk

    Wowza!!!
This is so amazing, I LOVE the china cabinets. The one with all the green touches is spectacular!!
I have that same Mothers Day plate in the next to last photo.
I have a few moss rose pieces, but your collection is amazing.

I am already tearing :'( up to hear you will have a vacation from posting, LOL
I know the new floor will be worth it, but your décor is so special and we will miss seeing it while you are busy with the new floor.

Our group is so special, but seems to be shrinking more and more. I am saddened to think of all the people who no longer post here. I believe many are posting on their blogs, while others have just moved away from posting.

Karen is the one who told me about this forum and I know she still posts occasionally, but I miss her frequent ((HUGS))!!

I hope your flooring gets installed quickly and you can post here again very soon.

    TFS,
    Candy

Also love how you used the figurines & the hearts ... just so beautiful ... & so delicate looking ...very feminine style. Your Mother's Day Rose T'scape is gorgeous ... & such a bold color using those butterflies looking as tho they are flying! Roses & birds & pink candlelight ... sweet! & lil' TJ is lookin' so pretty back there! TFS, punk...wonderful! Jeanne S.

Wow, Punk this is just lovely.
You and your sister have such wonderful things to remember your DM and DGM.
The green plates highlight your arrangement perfectly.
I think it is wonderful to have heirloom pieces, they are treasures.
And each piece has a story to tell.
I'll be back again and again to look at these wonderful pictures!!

Creek, nice to read you like the hot pink butterflies too! Sometimes
when I start decorating, I have second thoughts if the added bling
should be there.haha I so hope the new flooring is what I want.

Candy, we bought both of our Mothers plates like that one. As it
turned out, that was the day our little angel went to be with his Savior.
It's sad but after I lost DM I kept it. After 38 years, I can now display
it w/o crying my eyes out. My DMIL still has hers hanging in her DR.

I agree our group is not as active now days. So wish others who enjoy
seeing what we do would comment. I promise I will be back sharing ASAP.

We all miss our Dear Karen not being on here daily! She has done
so much for our Holiday forum.

Jeanne, it's almost a challenge trying to decide what to display in that
BIG hutch. As I'm packing I keep telling myself I should keep the same
in it all the time. However, that wouldn't be any FUN so that will probably
never happen until I can no longer move.LOL

I'm so amazed that all of you like the Butterflies so well! Makes me Smie!

Nana, I'm never sure if I'm adding the right accent plates to my hutch.
So thanks for the comments. Seems like I use those green plates alot
on here. Will have to work on changing them up when I get done with
    the flooring.

You are so right! So many memories shared. Makes me think I need to
do this for Christmas. I have ornaments from DGM and DM that I could
display. I'm sure I have more things too.haha

Again, thanks so much ladies for all the sweet comments.
I'm off to work now. Punk

Wow Punk....you really have some beautiful china there! Love your displays and all of your figurines, mementos, etc. So nice to have the family pictures there. I'm sure everyone enjoyed seeing them. Good luck with your flooring project too!

Thanks for all the sweet comments, Marlene. Nice to hear
you liked the pictures added to this. My family isn't into all
the decor but sure love to add to my collections for me. I'm
ok with this as my friends enjoy it with me.

I haven't got my estimates on the flooring. Still waiting to see
if it's within my buget. As my momma would say 'I have
champange taste with a beer pocket book.'LOL

Punk, your DM and DGM would be so honored by all the beautiful rememberances for them. The buffet decor is lovely, and the table....but that big china cabinet absolutely took my breath away! So many special things and so much beauty all combined where each enhances the other perfectly. I keep looking at it and still can't find the right words to describe it. All I can say is I love what you did, and find your talent for decorating awesome.

I want to thank you girls for saying such kind words about me on this thread. Wow. Don't make me cry!

Punk, not sure if you remember me getting my flooring redone about 2 yrs ago. So I can empathize with you having to move stuff out of every room. A friend helped me empty the dozen china cabinets and move all the smaller furniture, but it was so exhausting. I was so lucky to work with a great flooring company. When I explained to the guy who came out with samples and to give me estimates that I had NO place to go with ALL my collectibles and had physical challenges in moving stuff,
he was fantastic. He said they could move all the heavy pieces and no extra charge, plus they'd do the work in TWO phases. So I had only to empty stuff from half at a time. What a blessing! I don't think I could have done it otherwise!
I will be thinking about you as go thru this huge undertaking!
    hugs, Karen

Karen, you are so sweet with all your comments on the
    hutch.Thanks

You are not going to believe this. I still haven't received a
bid on my flooring but have almost everything moved out of
the house. Sooo I've met with our architect and a contractor
    about adding on.

I know what you are saying about all the work packing. They
said they would move all the heavy furniture but we said we
thought we could do it room by room. I'm getting use to the bare
place and it's so much easier to clean.LOL

I loved the cherry hardwood flooring and tile I had picked out but
not sure why they haven't gotten back to me. Now they may
have to wait until this woman figures out what she wants. I've
even thought about a whole new kitchen. Could be six months!

No Worries, I'm just enjoying our yard and planning a trip to CA.
