Cute little bunny project

Hi everyone -- as bad as the weather may seem, Easter isn't far around the corner. :)

Somebody posted somewhere the other day about 'Giving Bunnies'.... might have been here! Anyway, it stuck with me so I wanted to try the basic idea. I also wanted to try the polyfill I got from a new local manufacturer!

I made the body from an old sweater, eyes from scrap yarn, nose from scrap embroidery thread, stuffed with polyfill and quickly hand-sewn all around with pearlized cotton. Then I gave him a cotton-ball tail. I was rushing, but I still think he's cute. LOL!

Here is a link that might be useful: Giving Bunny Project

Aww...he IS cute...and what a nice idea too.
I like tha you used sweater material and kept all the details simple.
I might 'borrow' your idea to make them with my two youngest
Grkids (boy 9 and girl 11 ). I taught them each how to sew
two months ago, and we made stuffed Christmas ornaments.
They had so much fun...That I think they will love
    Making these too.
    Thanks PM.

Thanks! Yes, Jane, use whatever you have! I thought about using buttons for his eyes, but the blue yarn was such a good color.

I'm a sock lover! I have the wildest ankle socks you've ever seen... one time at work I was told "Don't you EVER wear those socks again for a demo... they're too distracting!". :) My plan is to start making some SOCK CREATURES! LOL!

Adorable little bunny you made PM. Love those
blue eyes. With the heart nose it's perfect for
    Valentine's Day. Thanks for sharing.

Jane, what a fun project for you and the Gkids
to make. It's been awhile since you've shared
projects you made with the Gkids. Your Gkids
will be so thankful you taught them how to sew
    when they get older.

Our DS made a quilt in high school and was so
proud of it. He loved the Home Ec teacher and
she convinced him to take her class. He's also
    an excellent cook.

You know PM, the kids have LOTS of odd socks so they would be
the best thing to use. I could see using buttons for eyes too,
but I think Ill leave that up to them.
I'm laughing over your 'sock story' ...they must have been real
'Eye catchers' !! LOl. If you do have lots of wild ankle socks...I
can see so many cute characters being created from them...
That would be a real fun project....make sure you share them when you do get started.
Punk..since I have VERY limited supplies here, I'm not able to do too
much in the way of craft projects with the Grkids...but while I was
packing up some things to take here with me, I did remembers to bring the fabric patterns for the Christmas project. Seeing PMs sock bunny seems
like an easy one to do w/o needing too many supplies and I already
    have leftover batting .
I think it's great that your DS enjoyed making the quilt and also likes to cook.
Having those 'survival skills' will always be handy throughout life...right? Lol
