My big score!!!

| I'm thinking that you guys could dress this up beautifully for Valentine's Day use! but, unfortunately, it can't be refinished until I can do it outdoors in warmer weather (they're telling me to finish the stripping with steel wool and ammonia).
I've been looking for a tea cart for YEARS and I just scored this on craigslist for $25 (as is). I'm THRILLED!!!

I love it... my aunt had one - back in the day, and I always loved it. This one has such nice lines to it, and so many possibilities. I'm looking forward to see the 'After' ! Good Luck with it. jane |

| What a neat find, it's a lovely teacart. Going to be beautiful when you get it all spruced up! Have to say that the ammonia sounds sorta harsh and drying to me--you might want to check at Lowe's or Home Depot for a refinishing kit. They take off the old finish and rejuvenate the wood too. You are really going to have fun creating vignettes to display on it. ;o) Luvs |

| I'm so happy for you for your find! I had wanted one for years also and finally bot one at a charity sale a few years ago. I didn't have to refinish mine altho it was *filthy* - had probably been in someone's attic for years. I washed it with Murphy's Oil soap and hosed it off on the patio. Then used Restor-A-Finish and it really came up nicely. You'll have to show us how you decorate it. |

Oh how wonderful. And Ditto me on what all the others said. Congratulations on a super find. Ammonia...ugh. Those fumes knock me for a loop with raging headaches. Surely what Luvs suggested would work better and be less harsh? I can't wait to see it done, will be a beauty for sure. hugs, Karen |

| Thanks, everyone! Now I just need the good weather and TIME to finish it. lol! Luvs and purplemoon, I work with two guys whose family members refinish antiques. They both told me to finish the stripping with steel wool and ammonia "to bring up the grain". Then they said to sand lightly, and finish with linseed oil. I figure they know what they're talking about. And, although I'm not crazy about the fumes from ammonia, I like that it's organic and won't harm anything (versus the chemical stripper stuff you buy). |

| Love your tea cart and I've always wanted one too. Maybe I need to watch craigslist.haha It will be beautiful when you get it finished but don't envy all the work ahead of you. The price was just super. So happy for you. Had to go back and take another look. It looks dusty in the picture but not like it needs refinished. I'll bet you can hardly wait to be able to use it. | What a wonderful find. I love to refinish furniture and this would be a fun piece to do. What are your plans for it? |
